The “2019 First Global Silk Road Business School Forum” was held in Xi’an on October 30. It highlighted the integration between technology and business, and between talent and development, and explored the mode and path of business empowering technological development. Tang Jie, director of the Office of MBA Program Center, and vice presidents of the MBA Alumni Association Li Jianzhou and Wei Xiang were invited to the event.
With the theme “Pooling Global Business Wisdom and Innovating Development of Technology Industry”, the Forum was hosted by the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and organized by the School of Economics and Finance of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Alliance of Silk Road Business Schools. More than 500 teachers, students and alumni from more than 100 business schools gathered in the ancient city Xi’an. The forum consists of a theme forum and an awards ceremony.
In the theme forum, Li Zheng, professor of economics from the School of Economics and Finance of Xi’an Jiaotong University and honorary professor of the University of Sydney Business School, gave a keynote speech titled “Insight into Individual Behavior: New Challenges of Management in the Intelligent Era”. Dean of School of Journalism and Communication, Nankai University and winner of the Taofen Award (the highest award in journalism in China) Liu Yadong gave a keynote speech titled “Technological Innovation Promotes Economic Development”.
At the awards ceremony, teachers, outstanding students and business elites were commended who have contributed to technological innovation, entrepreneurship and development of business school, and promoted integration between business development and technological innovation. The School of Business of Jiangnan University was honored MBA Program with the Highest Brand Value. President of the School Teng Lefa won the “2019 Global Silk Road Business School MBA Outstanding Contribution Award”, and the Alumni Association the “2019 Global Silk Road Business School Outstanding MBA Association (Alumni Association) Award”. The companies founded by alumni of Li Jianzhou and Wei Xiang were awarded “Star of Alumni Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, and Wu Hao from Class 2017 received the “MBA Rookie Award”.
