On December 14, the 2019 Jiangnan University MBA Annual Ceremony and MBA Development Forum, hosted by JNU MBA Program Center and organized by JNU MBA Alumni Association and MBA Federation, was held at the Hualuxe Hotels and Resorts Wuxi Taihu.
Dr. Teng Lefa, dean of the Business School of Jiangnan University and tenured professor at the University of Guelph in Canada, attended the event along with nearly 500 guests, including Sun Hongwei, vice chairman and general manager of Wuxi Taiji Industrial Co., Ltd., Chen Jing, director, chief operating officer, and general manager of Cable Industry of Far East Smart Energy, Huang Hongjuan, chairman of Lanchuang Intelligent Technology, Wang Xiaohong, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Jd-link International Logistics, Mi Xidong, assistant general manager of FAW Jiefang Engine Division, Zeng Qinghai, founder of LEAN, Social Resources Office of Jiangnan University.
On behalf of the School, Mr. Teng Lefa expressed gratitude to all sectors of society for their support for JNU’s MBA education. He said that the AMBA certification has presented JNU’s MBA education to the world. The AACSB certification, which the School started to apply for this year, will promote the MBA program and international cooperation and exchanges. He encouraged MBA alumni to expand their vision and use their rich knowledge of business management to achieve their dreams.
Mr. Sun Hongwei gave a keynote speech titled “Innovate for Breakthroughs: The Road to Transformation of Taichi Industrial”. Then, in the roundtable forum, chaired by Professor Zhu Heping, director of the Case Construction Committee of the School of Business, guests Chen Jing, Huang Hongjuan, Wang Xiaohong, Mi Xidong and Zeng Qinghai discussed the transformation and struggles of enterprises in the new era, and the potential and practice of independent innovation. In the alumni dialogue session, six outstanding MBA alumni shared their experience and explored career development.
During the forum, the MBA Alumni Association stood out from 95 alumni of JNU and received the award “2019 Advanced Group” for the fourth year in a row. The new directors of the 3rd MBA Alumni Council were appointed to “serve the alumni and Wuxi, and build the brand influence of the alumni association”. Meanwhile, two alumni, for the first time, were awarded the university-level honor “2019 Certificate of Excellent Dissertation for Taught Program of Jiangnan University”. Five newly-added “Home of Alumni” were officially launched to bring alumni together. Gu Yan, president of the newly established “Jiangnan University MBA Alumni Association Charity Club”, was presented a flag in the hope that the MBA alumni will devote themselves to social welfare undertakings and their social responsibilities.
At the ceremony, MBA teachers, students and alumni also put on performance to demonstrate the charm of the MBA program.
Approved in 2007, the MBA program of JNU began enrollment in 2008 and has since admitted 1,490 students, including 876 alumni. It passed the evaluation by the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee on 2011 and that by the Ministry of Education in 2016. It was the 2nd business school in Jiangsu Province, the 36th in Mainland China and the 258th in the world to be certified by AMBA.
