The MBA teams of JNU won one Second Prize, one Third Prize, the Best Instructor Award and the Outstanding Business Case Award at the Final of the 3rd MBA Case Competition of Jiangsu Province held at Soochow University from November 9th to 10th.
Two MBA teams from JNU made it to the final. The case “Independent Innovation of Chips for a Smart Future—Exploration and Practice of Independent Innovation at FAW Jiefang Engine Division” ranked fourth and won the Second Prize. The other case “Strategic Layout to Fulfill the Dream of Far East— Transition from Ten Billion to A Hundred Billion and Struggles” received the Third Prize. Instructors Zhu Heping, Liu Jin, Wu Yuanyuan, and Li Feng won the Best Instructor Award. FAW Jiefang Engine Division and Far East Smart Energy were presented the Outstanding Business Case Award.
JNU had attached great importance to the organization of and participation in case competitions. The MBA Education Center started preparations in June, with Professor Zhu Heping, Associate Professor Wu Yuanyuan and two other instructors leading two case teams of 26 MBA students. Over 3 months of research and writing, they submitted two cases to the organizing committee, which passed the expert review. In October, the Center organized an on-campus selection and 18 students stood out to form two teams for the provincial final.
While demonstrating their skills in case analysis, public speaking and debate, the students also increased their capabilities for practical innovation, communication, collaboration, analysis and decision-making.
In recent years, the School has built a training model that integrates case development, case teaching, case study, case writing and case competition, and released the MBA Competition Management Measures of Jiangnan University and Methods of Selection for MBA Competition Scholarship of Jiangnan University to encourage MBA students to participate in competitions. The past five years has seen our students win 18 team awards and six individual awards in a variety of competitions, adding to the influence of the MBA brand of JNU.
